LEARNING INTENTION:
To understand how to simplify expressions into simplest form SUCCESS CRITERIA: - I can collect like terms - I can write fractions in simplest form for both numbers and letters. EXERCISES FROM TEXT Ex 2 B Fluency: Questions 1, 2, 3aceg, 4a,c,e,g, 5-9 Problem Solving: 10, 12, 13 Reasoning: 15 Enrichmnent: 16 "Like terms" - terms whose variables/ letters (and their powers such as the 2 in x^2 are the same.
Example:7x, x, -2x Are all like terms because the variables are all x Example:(1/3)xy^2, −2xy^2, 6xy^2, xy^2 If terms are like terms they can be added together or subtracted from one another.
